Growing21 Development Trust is a charity that was formed by local Ruchazie residents in 2020. The Charity is committed to the physical, cultural, social & economic renewal and development of Ruchazie and its community.
Growing21 is a non profit community-led charity who support some of the most vulnerable people in our community through our different community projects. Ruchazie has consistently experienced higher than average levels of poverty and disadvantage, however, as a community we are committed to reversing this trend through our various projects.
We manage the successful Ruchazie Pantry that was the first Glasgow community pantry to open in 2020 and has continued to positively tackle poverty and food insecurity ensuring individuals and families have access to good food at affordable cost, while diverting waste from landfill.
Additionally, community members have access to a range of vital support services to help address the route causes of poverty and inequality.
Our Fireclay Bistro-cafe & Kitchen will provide our community with a much needed social space to eat, learn and gain new skills. The space is also used to deliver community groups & classes.
Our redevelopment of derelict land, 'The Link', will provide our community with a place to grow, play and learn new skills. We also deliver a range of groups and community events on site to allow all our community members to positively benefit from living in Ruchazie.

Our Current Work
Fireclay Bistro Cafe
Our community bistro cafe and community kitchen is found next door to our Pantry. Our bistro cafe also provides volunteering opportunities and delivers employability and leisure training courses for the community. Additionally, the space is regularly used for a range of groupwork activities.
Ruchazie Environment
We want to enjoy a community that has attractive greenspaces and is free from litter. We aim to create a place the whole community is proud to call home.
We want to empower everyone to get involved, create a better environment on their doorstep and inspire change within the community.
